Fused glass is made by building layers of glass much in the same way as creating a collage. The layers can consist of pieces of glass, frit, powders or enamels and even other items inserted between layers. The glass is heated to temperatures of about 1500° F and then cooled down slowly. Each piece is made individually, so even ones that are similar are unique. .
